Figure 8 Fitness Review – Dancing Like Nobody’s Watching (and Getting Fit in the Process!)
Prior to Figure 8 Fitness, my experience with “dancercise” was limited to talent show competitions with my sixth grade BFF, and Richard Simmons’ legendary Sweatin’ to the Oldies videos which I used to do for fun with my parents as a kid in the 90s. (Yup, dating myself a bit here.) So I have to admit, when I first started seeing Facebook ads about how Figure 8 Fitness was helping people dance away the pounds, I ever-so-briefly had visions of Dancing in the Street and candy-striped dolphin shorts. And after finishing more intense HIIT programs from Bodyboss and Jillian Michaels (My first of the latter was the 30 Day Shred)…

Centr App Review – Is it Worth Subscribing to Chris Hemsworth’s Fitness App?
I’ve been interested in the Centr app by Chris Hemsworth since it came out last year. After all, who better to be your personal trainer than Thor himself? ** My blog posts contain affiliate links, which means that I may earn a commission on purchases you make after clicking on those links. (At no extra cost to you!) Full disclosure here. ** Although I already have my tried and true favorites when it comes to fitness programs, (like this one or this one) I do like mix it up to keep things fresh. So last month, I finally tried it out in order to bring you this Centr app review. …

No Gym, No Problem: The 5 Best Fitness Apps for Working Out at Home
I’m not going to try and hide it: I’m a bit of a fitness app junkie. I love how affordable they are compared to gym memberships. Not only that but with the right fitness app, I don’t even have to leave my house to get in a good sweat session. And with the New Year just around the corner, its never been a better time to start a new fitness program; I don’t know about you, but I want to kick off the new decade feeling healthy and strong. Yet, some fitness apps are better than others. I’ve tried out quite a few by this point and I definitely have…

Cronometer Review: Easy Calorie Counting on the Go!
Tracking calories can be super helpful, especially at the beginning of your health and fitness journey when you’re trying to get your bearings on how many calories are actually in things. (It can be quite a shock to learn just how quickly calories add up! I know it was for me!) Back in the day, I used to use the free calorie tracker on a health forum to keep tabs on calorie intake, but it wasn’t very user-friendly and eventually, I gave up logging calories. ** My blog posts contain affiliate links, which means that I may earn a commission on purchases you make after clicking on those links. (At…

Jillian Michaels App Review: Like Having Your Very Own Celebrity Trainer
Whenever I hear about Jillian Michaels, I’m taken back to circa 2009 when her fitness DVDs were sweeping the nation. It even convinced a cardio bunny like me to pick up a pair of dumbells and give strength training a go. And I did love the results I saw with some of those DVDs (You can see my full review of one such DVD here.) But there was one problem: What do you do after you finish the videos? You can’t just do the same few workouts over and over again. I mean, you can. But it gets pretty boring! Despite Jillian Michaels having a whole library of fitness DVDs,…

Bodyboss Review – The Perfect HIIT Program for Your Busy Life
Prior to November 2017, the only kind of exercise routine I could stick to was running and yoga. I never thought I would try a hardcore fitness program like Bodyboss, let alone finish the program and write a Bodyboss review! But although running and yoga are both fantastic forms of exercise that helped me lose weight and vastly improved my life in different ways, they fall short in the body re-composition department. In a recent post, I talked about the magic of HIIT or High-Intensity Interval Training. I was scared to try this type of exercise for the longest time. It seemed HARD, and I didn’t know where to start.…
