Here are some common questions about Serial Starter Fix

How is this different from other fitness programs?

Serial Starter Fix puts an emphasis on “doability” and motivation by keeping workouts short and simple. 


My 12-to-21 Progression System gradually increases exercise duration from 12 to 21 minutes over a 4 week period. 


The workouts themselves contain only 4 exercises each. Many of the exercises are also modified to make them more suitable for beginners, and use fewer reps to prevent burnout too soon in the workout. 


In other words, you aren’t expected to jump right into the deep end with this program.


That doesn't mean you aren't going to feel challenged - You will definitely be sweating!

How much weight can I lose with Serial Starter Fix?

Serial Starter Fix is designed to kickstart your fitness journey and facilitate modest weight loss.


Other fitness programs might promise you washboard abs, but if you can’t stick to it because the workouts are too long, difficult, or extreme, then it’s an empty promise.  


It also depends on how much you have to lose. 


Remember that you get back what you put into it! 

Is this really going to work if weight loss is 80% diet anyway?

I'm not sure where this theory came from, but I’ve never agreed with it.  In my experience, it’s way easier to exercise and burn more calories than you eat, than to be sedentary and eat fewer calories than you burn. 


I am not going to tell you that diet isn’t important - it is! And if you've been steadily gaining weight every month then yes, you will likely need to rein in your diet a bit for this program to be effective. 


But if you’ve been sedentary and hovering around the same weight for a long time, then it’s reasonable to expect you will get results with this program without making any big changes to your diet.


Either way, I do offer a couple suggestions in the resources section of the program on how to figure out your daily energy expenditure and keep tabs on your calories.

Why include step-count goals? Do I have to do them?

Walking is an excellent and easy way to improve your health and increase your daily calorie burn. And having a daily step-count goal can help keep you active throughout the day. 


You can think of the step count targets as “bonus” goals to accelerate your progress. They really help but you can still do the program without them, if you need to. 


I know that not everyone has time to go for a 40+ minute walk every day. But remember that all steps count! If you make an effort to work extra steps in throughout the day, you will be amazed at how fast they add up!

I don’t have much space or any equipment, can I still do the program?

Absolutely! If you have enough empty space to turn around in a circle with your arms outstretched, you pretty much have enough space to do these workouts. 


All the workouts are equipment-free and utilize your own body weight to create resistance.


Is there a refund policy?

Can I really get results with such short workouts?

Yes! It’s all about boosting your metabolism with Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption, aka the “EPOC” or “Afterburn” effect.


Even though the circuit workouts are short and sweet, they are high-intensity and designed to get your heart rate up there. This  means you burn a fair few calories during the workout session - but then your metabolism actually continues to burn additional calories for hours after you work out!


Not only that, if you hit your step count goals, you will accelerate your daily calorie burn even more.

What day do I start the program?

You can start whenever you want! (Although there's no time like the present, am I right?)


The program is DIY and the calendar is numbered rather than day-of-the-week based, so you get to choose your starting date. 


What's to stop me from quitting this program too?

At the end of the day, whether or not you stick with a program will come down to your choice.


That said, this program is different in that there is more focus on motivation.


As you will learn in the program's introductory video, I give you full permission to take ownership of your workouts and modify the exercises or number of reps when you need to. 


It's also way easier to stick to than most programs because the workouts are simple, consisting of only 4 exercises each, and start out with only 12 minutes of active exercise per session. Even by the end, the workouts never exceed 21 minutes of active exercise.

I thought you liked other home fitness programs/apps?

I do! And I even recommend them in many cases - but it really depends on where you are in your fitness journey and what your goals are.
